Why is the radio controlled sailing is cool? It does not cause muscle strain; you don’t get wet; a little piece of ice free surface is enough, but what is the most important, these boats are go well in a small whiff as well. That is what happened on Sunday in Siófok, on the radio-controlled boat’s match race.

On the first spring like day, nine competitors gathered, to compare their skills in the port of Siófok within the frameworks of a match race. Ferencz Gyula who arrived form Marosvásárhely, raise the competition to an international one. The match race is a novelty in model sailing, but for a competitor this was his first ever competition. With beginners luck he managed to get in to the first seven as a runner up.
There wasn’t going to be much wind, at least that much was surely known. In spite of this in the front of the port they managed to organize innumerable races. The place before the flood gate is really good, because even in the greatest calm, there is always a little thermic wind. In this size a simple up-and-down line perfectly fits here. On Sunday there was no traffic (only once did a ship cross the buoys). In a word it’s an ideal place for the radio controlled races.
This was a competition for the E class. The F5-E class is the smallest racing class. In its name, E stands for Einmater, as in One-metre class. Their length is one meter; the keel’s length cannot be longer than 36cm. Only two servomotors are aloud. One of them sets the sails, the other sets the rudder. It disposes 3 sets of sails, which are changed according to the strength of the wind. The sail sets are standard. . As these are the major rules they live a great freedom for boat design. Both wide and thin boat is possible according to one’s taste and conception.
